Floral design has been part of Carl Schwartz’s life for as long as he can remember. As a third‑generation florist, he grew up surrounded by flowers, learning the craft from his grandparents and parents in the family shop founded in 1918.

Over the years, Carl became the owner and president of Shaw Florist & Decorations and Carl Alan Floral Designs, and he spent decades teaching at the Shaw School of Floral Design, helping countless florists launch their careers.

His work has taken him everywhere — from weddings and local celebrations to events for presidents, entertainers, and public figures. Along the way, he earned awards from The Knot, WeddingWire, and many others.

After retiring in 2022, Carl decided to share his love of floral design in a new way: through hands‑on workshops that welcome everyone. Whether you’re dreaming of starting a floral business or simply want a fun, creative afternoon, Carl’s workshops offer something special for every flower lover.
